Our gård (farm) is located at the tip of Värmlandsnäs, a peninsula in Sweden’s biggest lake Vänern. We have about 75 hectares of land, including a coastline at the water (with little harbour and an island), forests and fields.
We are: Maurice (55), Anneke (44) and our kids (16, 14) and our fosterchild (13) and our long-term volunteer Linard (22). We speak Dutch, English, German and Swedish.
We are working to achieve a high level of selfsufficiency and off-grid-ness by growing all of our food and renewing energy supplies (to solar and processing electricity from burning wood). Also we work on the cultivation of herbs and fruittrees, combined with a sheepfarm, for keeping the landscape open and for a modest supply of skins and meat. Our farm is certified ecological.
